El RIo Developer Tries To Contract Locally
- River Cities Business Journal, April 2006.
Mohave Valley - With the immense growth and impending quality services as more businesses pour into the region, the current and future plans of The Hoover Companies appear to be capturing the momentum that's spreading across Mohave County.
According to Brad Hoover, Chief Operating Officer of the Hoover Companies - parent company of Hoover Quality Homes - the bar has been raised; the growth spurt is on. Buildings are going up and future development plans are in the works. Recently, Hoover and members of his executive staff attended the 2006 Builders' Show held at the Las Vegas Convention Center. A presentation was made by Richard Lee, a well-known top development expert who organized the event.
At the convention, Lee said that if someone is looking for their share of the fastest-growing market and wants to buy a home and invest, they should go right to the middle of the sprawl. Lee reasons that if Las Vegas is currently building like it's the center of the universe and the nearest other hot spot is Phoenix and its outlying areas, the smart place to buy a home or ti invest would be in the middle of those two destinations. This just happens to include the River Cities area.
The Hoover Companies is heeding the growth signs. According to Dave Moore, The Hoover Companies' Vice President, of the 15 current development projects, there is a conscious effort being made to include other local companies. The companies would complement each other's building strengths and lead to the completion of successful projects. This consortium of companies defining good work ethics and responsible future planning for the River Cities area is part of The Hoover Companies' development planning.
At a recent meeting with Bullhead City Manager Tim Ernster and Bullhead City Councilwoman Jan Ward, Hoover said the future growth of the area would benefit the city, county, and state. The concept would extend to government planning departments working efficiently with one another to expedite and build a positive, professional relationship as growth increases.
"It's an exciting time for us all. Everyone I talk to has their plate filled with work," Hoover said, "I have several projects in the air at all times. I understand that the demand for services and inquiries for just about everything imaginable must swamp the city and county officials who work with us developers pertaining to every detail of building procedures. If there ever was a time for us to focus on the solutions and not the problems, the time has arrived and the community's future will be a testament to this."
According to Bullhead City's Manager Tim Ernster, he is impressed with the growth that is happening in the area.
"When I took the tour with Hoover the other day, I was amazed at the quality and the overall professional esthetics that are cropping up along Highway 95 in the Mohave Valley area," Ernster said. "Compared to some of the past projects, we are talking like 30 years ago; we have come a long way with the type of quality building we now promote. This will attract those who see this type of building as a statement of how we view our community. What the Hoover Companies as well as Laughlin Ranch and other quality builders have done and are doing is a good for our community."
